Apple Crumble

Apple Crumble

One of my favorite apple desserts during this time of year. It comes together super quickly and is the ultimate cozy comfort food. It's filled with sweet caramelized apples and topped with an almond crumble topping. Plenty of butter and sugar ensure the crumble stay crispy after baking, creating a delightful textural contrast between topping and tender fruit.

Filling

  • 4-5 apples -Gala or Granny Smith Apples (cored, diced into bite size pieces)
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tbs lemon juice
  • 2 Tbs corn starch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Crumble

  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup packed almond flour
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon fine grain sea salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. line a 9”x9” baking pan with parchment paper.

In a large bowl add all the ingredients for the apple mixture. Mix and set aside.

In another bowl add all the ingredients for the almond crumble mixture. Mix until fully combined.

Add apples to your baking pan. Spread them as evenly as you can. Top with crumble mixture.

Bake for 30-35 minutes. The apples should be bubbling and the crumble should turn golden brown.
